All students are eligible for on-campus housing. The housing application will ask you questions about yourself and your living and dining preferences to help determine your best fit for on-campus housing.
What type of student are you?
You are considered a transfer student if you have 24 or more transferable credit hours and have obtained a high school diploma or equivalent more than a year ago. Learn more about transfer admissions.
Complete and submit your application for admission to Oregon State.
Once you have been admitted (including students enrolled in the Degree Partnership Program and Educational Opportunities Program) you’ll receive an OSU Network ID (ONID) account. Your ONID serves as your university e-mail address and as a login credential for university services.
Go to the ONID website to activate your account; select “Sign Up for ONID” on the left-hand side.
If you have a domestic partner or dependents, check out our on-campus family housing.

For students entering Summer Term 2020: New student application currently open (became available May 5, 2020)
For students entering Fall 2020: New student application currently open (became available Feb. 10, 2020)
Your application is also your contract; make sure you understand the application before you complete it.
The earlier you complete your application, the better your chances are of receiving your top choices.
Select your top choices for buildings and dining plan. You can return to the application to update your answers without affecting your application completion date.
Before you can receive a room assignment, you must pay your Advance Tuition Deposit at Oregon State.
Students entering in Fall 2020, who have completed their application by June 1, 2020, will receive an email with a login invitation to the My College Roomie online roommate matching system. Filling out the My College Roomie questionnaire will help you find someone in our online roommate matching system if you want to choose your own roommate, and will help our staff match you if you do not choose your own roommate.
If you complete the housing application after June 1, 2020, our staff will match you with a roommate.
Make sure you understand how gender identity affects roommate matching.
Make sure potential roommates are eligible for the same communities you are. See more roommate matching tips.
If you have a friend you already know you would like to live with, you both must fill out the My College Roomie questionnaire and then select each other.
Students must complete all items in Steps 1-4 before they can receive a room assignment.
Room assignments will be sent to student email addresses beginning in late June, and will continue throughout the summer.
