Living in the heart of Beaver Nation

An on-campus room places you steps away from all the resources you need to succeed in your first year and beyond.

  • First-year students live in most of our 15 residence halls.
  • Single, double and triple rooms are available.
  • All residence halls feature on-site laundry facilities, recreation spaces, lounges, and kitchens or kitchenettes available 24/7.

Dining on campus

Residents of Oregon State University can eat at more than 25 different micro-restaurants and cafes, get groceries at our on-campus market, and enjoy dishes that feature fresh veggies from our campus garden.

Engaging in community

Many of Oregon State's residence halls are home to Living-Learning Communities or Special Interest Communities.

These are groups of students who share common interests, shared living preferences, or are part of the same academic program.

Thriving on campus

In both nation-wide studies and research conducted at OSU, first-year students who live on campus earn better grades than students who live off campus, and also tend to graduate more quickly.

  • Every hall has staff members dedicated to student success, including a full-time professional resident director and live-in student staff.
  • Each residence hall has an academic learning assistant, a peer mentor who can help new students cultivate strong academic habits.

First Year Experience

As part of Oregon State University's comprehensive First-Year Experience, first-year students, with very few exceptions, are required to live on campus. Living on campus is an excellent way for students to connect with key campus resources and build community.

Applying for housing

All Oregon State students are eligible for on-campus housing. The housing application for students who plan to start at OSU in September typically opens in early February. The application is an online process that will walk you through a series of questions to help determine your best fit for on-campus housing.
