Many of Oregon State's residence halls are home to Living-Learning Communities or Special Interest Communities.
These are groups of students who share common interests, shared living preferences, or are part of the same academic program.
In both nation-wide studies and research conducted at OSU, first-year students who live on campus earn better grades than students who live off campus, and also tend to graduate more quickly.

As part of Oregon State University's comprehensive First-Year Experience, first-year students, with very few exceptions, are required to live on campus. Living on campus is an excellent way for students to connect with key campus resources and build community.

All Oregon State students are eligible for on-campus housing. The housing application for students who plan to start at OSU in September typically opens in early February. The application is an online process that will walk you through a series of questions to help determine your best fit for on-campus housing.
