Getting started on your housing application

All students are eligible for on-campus housing. The housing application will ask you questions about yourself and your living and dining preferences to help determine your best fit for on-campus housing.

1. Confirm your enrollment

Learn about living on campus

Oregon State students (including students enrolled in the Degree Partnership Program and Educational Opportunities Program) who intend to take winter or spring term classes may apply to live on campus.

Review Oregon State’s First Year Experience and Live-On Policy.

2. Research your options

Communities designed with you in mind

Do you want to live in a Living-Learning Community or a Special Interest Community? Does your major strongly encourage you to select a certain community?

Which halls fit your budget?

Take a look at our 2024-25 room and dining rates.

What are your living and dining preferences?

What room types or bathroom styles are you looking for? Explore your options.

Be aware that some options, such as single rooms, have very limited availability.

Every effort will be made to accommodate one of your housing selections; however room assignments are contingent on current room availability in residence halls.

3. Apply for housing

Check your dates

Winter term 2025: The housing application to live on campus starting winter term 2025 opens November 5, 2024 (2 p.m. Pacific Standard Time).

Spring term 2025: The housing application to live on campus starting spring term 2025 opens February 18, 2025 (2 p.m. Pacific Standard Time).

Log in and apply through the housing portal

In the application, indicate your top three preferences for on-campus communities.

4. Sign your housing contract

Students are required to sign a contract prior to being assigned a room. Make sure you understand your contract before you complete it. If you are under 18 at the time your contract is signed, a parent or guardian co-signature is required.

5. Room assignment

All Done?

Students must complete all items in Steps 1-4 before they can receive a room assignment.

Room assignments will be sent to your Oregon State email address.
