New Students

Tuesday, February 13, 2024: Housing Application Available

  • Students must complete their application by May 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. to be eligible for online roommate matching.

  • This includes a parent/guardian signature if student is under 18 at the time of signing their housing contract.
Thursday, May 2, 2024: Contract Available

  • Students must sign their housing contract by May 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. to be eligible for roommate matching.

    • This includes a parent/guardian signature if student is under 18 at the time of signing their housing contract.

    • The contract will continue to be available after May 31, 2024 but students who complete the contract after May 31 will not be eligible for roommate matching.

June 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. to June 30, 2024 at 5 p.m.: Roommate Matching 

Online roommate matching is optional. Housing staff will assign a roommate to students who choose not to select their own roommate.

  • In order to participate in roommate matching, students must complete all of the following:
    • Complete their housing application by May 31, 2024
    • Completed their housing contract by May 31, 2024
    • Pay their Advance Tuition Deposit (ATD), except for Degree Partnership Program participants, or students who are exempt from the ATD.
July - September: New Student Room Assignments
  • Room assignment notifications will be sent on a rolling basis to the student's Oregon State email address
  • If, after receiving a room assignment, students would like to request a different room, they may add themselves to a waiting list for room changes.

Current Students

Review the dates and descriptions below to better understand how your housing application completion date impacts when you'll receive your room selection time slot and your eligibility for roommate selection.

 

February 4, 2025, at 2 p.m.: Residence hall housing application opens for all current students

  • Students that attend the Second Year & Above Kickoff event on Jan. 28 will receive early access to the housing application on Jan. 31.
  • Applicants will be given an individual time slot to select a room based on the completion date of "part one" of the housing application.
  • After selecting a room and signing the contract, students may continue to look at the room selection site to change their room through March 14.

Room Selection Notification

  • Students will be notified of their room selection time slot on Feb. 14. The room selection period will be Feb. 18 - 28. 
  • Students who apply for second year and above housing after Feb. 13 will have their applications reviewed and approved on a rolling basis as space becomes available.

Transfer Students

  • Residence hall housing application opens: February 6, 2024 at 2 p.m.
    • Note: On-campus apartments use a different application process that can accessed any time. For more information, visit our apartments page. 
  • Notification on next steps: For those who have completed part 1 of the application, notifications will begin on April 2, 2024
  • Contract: As space allows, contract will be available starting May 2, 2024
  • Assignments released: August through September

Graduate Students and Other Student Types

  • Residence hall housing application opens: February 6, 2024 at 2 p.m.
