About ILLC

Rates for the International Living-Learning Center

Eligibility: All Oregon State students are eligible to live in the ILLC.

Room types: All rooms in the ILLC have attached restrooms. Several different bedroom types are available. Residents of suites with private and semi-private restrooms are responsible for cleaning their own restrooms; UHDS staff clean community restrooms in other areas of the building daily.

What's provided in the building

ILLC residents get their mail at Arnold Service Center.

Also in the building: The ILLC is home to offices for INTO-OSU and also contains classrooms, meeting spaces, a grocery store and a coffee shop.

Room details

Many rooms in the ILLC come with a sink in the room and an adjacent semi-private restroom.

ILLC beds can be bunked or lofted with a UHDS rental bunk or loft kit. ILLC beds are adjustable up to 36 inches in height without a loft kit. ILLC beds do not accommodate bed risers.

ILLC triple rooms come with two beds already bunked and one bed already lofted with one of the desks placed underneath.

About the building

International Living-Learning Center shared kitchen.

Kitchens

  • Every floor in the ILLC is equipped with a large shared kitchen, available to residents 24/7.
  • Each kitchen has a cooktop, oven, refrigerator, microwave and sink.
  • Check with the hall staff to see what amenities are available at the desk, which might include additional cooking equipment or games.

Lounges

  • The ILLC has multiple large gathering spaces, including lounges on each floor.
  • Cable television is available in hall lounges, along with places for residents to study, socialize and relax.

  

Laundry Room

 

Laundry in Oregon State University residence halls is free for residents; no coins or cards are required.

  • Laundry rooms for the ILLC are located on the third floor.
  • Residents should bring their own laundry soap and other supplies.
  • Liquid detergent is preferred.
  • Laundry pods must be placed in the washer itself.
  • Use the Campus CleanPay app to monitor laundry status. (App set-up instructions are posted on site.)

  

Trash and Recycling

 

Each resident's room has a bin for trash and a bin for recycling. When the room bins are full, residents need to empty them in the building's trash and recycling areas.

  • Bottles, cans and paper: recycle these items inside, in the gray metal recycling bins. Two units are located on each residential floor (floors 2-5), on the wall across from the kitchen entrance.
  • Corrugated cardboard: recycle cardboard outside, in the cardboard bin inside the walled-off area on the southeast side of the building.
  • Trash: empty your trash can outside, in the dumpster inside the walled-off area on the southwest side of the building.

Restrooms in the ILLC

All suites in the ILLC have restrooms containing a shower, toilet and sink; these are shared only with other residents of the suite. Residents with suite-style restrooms are responsible for cleaning their own restrooms. See below for additional restrooms available throughout the building; UHDS staff clean these community restrooms daily.

South side neighborhood

The south side neighborhood features four residence halls: Bloss, Finley, Halsell and the International Living-Learning Center. Dining options include Southside Station @ Arnold, Cascadia Café and Cascadia Market & Deli. Southside residents live close to the Beth Ray Center for Academic Support. The Center offers programs and services to help students achieve their collegiate academic goals.  

For those who want to be part of Oregon State game days, this neighborhood is the place to be with Reser Stadium, Goss Stadium, Gill Coliseum and the Beaver Store. Softball, soccer, and track and field facilities are also nearby. Fans of the arts can visit the LaSells Stewart Center, a premier performing arts venue for concerts, performances and gallery exhibitions throughout the year.

Special Interest Communities

International Living-Learning: The International Living-Learning Center is a community for International and domestic students who are passionate about cultural exchange and global experiences. ILLC offers students of all majors the opportunity for international-domestic and international-international roommate pairs, globally themed hall programs and much more. 

Second Year and Above students: The fifth floor of ILLC is set aside for second-year and above students, which includes students who have already completed at least one year of college, or are graduate students or transfer students.

Hall Staff

Professional Staff: Each hall has a professional staff member, who lives on campus, supervises student staff members, and is available to meet with students one-on-one for guidance and support.

Student Staff: A team of student staff members lives in the ILLC to assist residents.
