Engineering Living-Learning Community

The Engineering Living-Learning Community, located in Hawley,  Buxton and Cauthorn halls, helps students become integrated into the OSU College of Engineering community, with programming centered on engineering concepts and activities. Students can also explore opportunities within the COE community or in undergraduate research.

Living in the Engineering Living-Learning Community allows students to connect with others in the same engineering core courses and to take advantage of extra help through tutoring support services provided in your residence hall.

Benefits of the Engineering Living-Learning Community

  • Live with predominantly engineering students; you'll never have to look very far to find someone who is in the same math and science courses you are.
  • Access to academic resources, including tutoring provided in the halls.
  • Participate in programming and workshops designed to support students in the engineering fields.
  • Women can take advantage of living in a Women In Science & Engineering wing located on the fifth floor of Buxton.
  • Interact with COE faculty and advisors to learn about courses, research and ways to get involved on campus.
  • Create strong friendships with students with similar interests and passions.

DAMlab Makerspace

Students in the Engineering Living-Learning Community have 24/7 access to the DAMlab, a lab stocked with tools for design and prototyping. The Makerspace, created in partnership with the College of Engineering and the College of Business, gives students the chance to get hands-on experience with 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines and more.
