The Corvallis area offers some incredible options for hitting the trail and exploring the outdoors on a hike or run. A short drive away, Mary’s Peak offers views for miles on clear days, while other closer trails such as Chip Ross Loop and trails at William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge provide opportunities to see wildlife and scenic views for all fitness levels.
Wednesdays and Saturdays, head to downtown Corvallis for the bi-weekly Farmer’s Market. Find local produce, baked goods, crafts and more as you browse the stalls and enjoy the sunshine. Pro tip: Arrive early to find the best selection of products and avoid crowds.
For even more local produce options, head outside of town and check out some local farmstands and gardens. Few things are as classically summer as a baseball game. Cheer on the local Corvallis Knights team at Goss Stadium on campus! With themed nights, tasty food options and a hometown crowd, Knights games are great way to spend a warm summer evening.
Just a little over an hour drive from Corvallis, Newport, Oregon is a great Oregon Coast day trip. You can catch a ride on the Coast to Valley Express Service shuttle for just $5. Once you’re there, enjoy amazing local seafood, walk along the shore, or visit the Oregon Coast Aquarium and OSU’s Hatfield Marine Science Center.
