The best time to return Eco2Go containers is within 24 hours - second-best time is now.

Whether they’re stacked up on your windowsill or gathering dust under your bed, it’s time to return your containers and any cups, bowls, forks, plates, spoons, etc. to the dining centers.

The reusable items help reduce single-use items and OSU’s impact on the planet, but only if the containers are returned and used again. It also saves future residents from paying for replacement pieces.

Since starting in 2015, the Eco2Go program has kept millions of disposable containers from entering landfills. You can do your part by returning the containers.

Returning the containers is easy:

  1. Gather any containers, cups, forks, knives, spoons, etc. that have accumulated or that you find during move out.
  2.  Empty remaining food scraps into the trash or compost if available. Leave the container open when returning.
  3. Return containers and other dining items to one of the designated return sites, which include all three dining centers, the first floor of every residence hall, every floor of the Valley Library and more than a dozen other locations.

For a complete list of return sites or for more information about Eco2Go, visit the Eco2Go webpage.
