Step one: Check your account balance
Visit the mycard website to check your balance or check a receipt. Calculate any potential leftover balances or gaps based on the number of weeks left in the term and dollars remaining (plans range from about $91 to $164 per week). Find tips for estimating dining plans on the UHDS website.
Step two: Consider your options
-
If you expect to have a balance at the end of the term:
- As long as you’ll be an OSU student next year, that dining plan balance will be converted into a Rollover Account that you can continue to spend for an additional academic year as long as you’re an OSU student.
- Students who have unused Dining Dollars, or whose meal plans may be about to expire, can also donate their unused funds to The Full Plate Fund at any UHDS dining location through June 12; just ask your cashier how! The program is a collaboration between UHDS and the Basic Needs Center to provide additional funds for residents experiencing food insecurity.
- Use Dining Dollars to stock up on snacks, personal care items, supplies for next year, and even study tools such as highlighters, pens and more at locations like Cascadia Market, Bites, the Dam and EBGBs. Please visit stores in May for best selection of non-perishable items.
-
If you expect to run out of Dining Dollars before end of term:
- For a stopgap to get you through finals week, consider using Orange Cash . You can load Orange Cash at any time, in amounts as small as $5. Orange Cash still offers an automatic discount and doesn’t expire.
Step three: Plan for next year!
-
When you're back at school next year:
- Remember Orange Cash is an account you can use as long as you are affiliated with OSU. Orange Cash offers a 10% discount on in-person purchases at participating dining locations across campus. It's also a convenient way to pay for services like Starship robot delivery and bowling at MU Lanes & Games! Sign up online to get advance notice about Orange Cash specials including discounts and free items.
