Our Purpose (from the Constitution):
It is the purpose of the RHA Councils to represent the members of the RHA in addressing their concerns and issues related to their residential experience, to coordinate or sponsor activities relevant to the residence halls, and to recognize members’ outstanding actions of leadership, scholarship, and service. The RHA shall also be a vehicle of communication and representation between its members and other student organizations, Associated Students of Oregon State University (ASOSU), UHDS, the Division of Student Affairs, and other offices of the university.
What we do:
- Host social and education programs throughout the year for residents, including After Darks (late night social programs every Friday)
- Advocate for and represent residents' interests to UHDS and OSU
- Oversee and support the three Area Councils
- Fund other initiatives and programs for residents
The RHA Executives:
There are 6 elected RHA Executives. Here is a quick run down of the positions:
- President
- Overall responsible for RHA and the three Area Councils
- Oversee and support the other 5 exec positions
- Chair General Assembly and Executive Council meetings
- Liaison to other departments and organizations
- Administration and Finance Officer
- Responsible for RHA's budgets, financial records, and processes
- Responsible for the RHA storage spaces
- Completes other administrative tasks and duties
- Media and Social Activities Coordinator
- Plan large-scale RHA social events
- Supports After Darks and serves on the After Dark Committee
- Responsible for RHA marketing and social media
- Leadership and Development Activities Coordinator
- Chairs West Side Area Council
- Plan training retreats and leadership development sessions
- Serves as NRHH Coordinator
- Social Justice Activities Coordinator
- Chair South Side Area Council
- Plans educational and social justice focused programs and initiatives
- National Communications Coordinator
- Chairs East Side Area Council
- Collaborates with RHAs/NRHHs across the country
- Plans delegations to NACURH conferences
- Serves as the NRHH Executive Officer
