Chefs at McNary will prepare a three-course meal with dishes including cheese soufflé, beef tartar and seared duck Feb. 14 plus other ways to celebrate.
Each course includes a list of three culinary options so guests can tailor their experience. (The full menu is available online.)
The setting will be elegant with tablecloths, ceramic dishware, printed menus and waitstaff. The idea is to bring a fine-dining experience to campus.
“It’s a special event that we look forward to every year. Staff prepare the menu months in advance,” said Joe Fuller, general manager at McNary Dining Center.
“It gives dining staff a chance to do elevated cuisine, explore culinary techniques and offer dishes not typically served in the dining centers including pumpkin agnolotti and salmon risotto. It also gives students, staff and the public a chance to experience fine dining without the price tag.”
While the menu is top tier, the price is not. Tickets are $25 per person in advance with limited seating at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Students can use their meal plans to purchase tickets.
The Valentine’s Day dinner started more than a decade ago at McNary Dining Center, and it has been an annual favorite ever since. The event provides a great opportunity to gather with friends and celebrate with good food and service.
No dress code or date required, but you do need reservations in advance. Seating is limited.
