Getting started on your housing application

All students are eligible for on-campus housing. The housing application will ask you questions about yourself and your living preferences to help determine your best fit for on-campus housing.

Ready to apply? Let's get started.

What type of student are you?

1. Research your options

Which of our Second Year & Above communities fits your needs?

Which residence halls fit your budget?

Take a look at our rates.

Pick a dining plan

Which dining plan suits your needs?

Remember that any unused funds from this year will roll over to next year.

2. Apply for housing

Current OSU students can apply to live in the residence halls for the 2024-25 academic year beginning Feb. 6, 2024.

Students who attend the Second Year & Above Kickoff event on Jan. 30 will receive early access to the housing application on Feb. 1.

Apply through the housing portal.

3. Select your room

Applicants will be given an individual time slot to access the room selection site and select a room. This time slot is based on the completion date for part 1 of the housing application.

The first notifications for room selection time slots will be emailed on Feb. 29, 2024, with the initial room selection period taking place from March 5 - 19. Those who apply after will be given a time slot on a rolling basis based on room availability.

4. Sign your housing contract

The housing contract -- part 2 of the housing application -- is required to secure a space on campus. The 2024-25 Room & Dining Contract will be available after selecting a room and roommates. A $50 contract fee will be charged after signing the contract. The deadline to cancel your contract with no cancellation fee is May 31, 2024.

Make sure you understand the contract before you complete it.
