Getting started on your housing application

All Oregon State students are eligible for on-campus housing. The housing application will ask you questions about yourself and your living and dining preferences to help determine your best fit for on-campus housing.

2. Apply for Housing

The housing application for Fall 2020 returning students will be available January 28, 2020 beginning at 2 p.m.

Application for current students will be closed from May 15-July 1, 2020. It reopens July 1, 2020 at 2 p.m.

Your application is also your contract; make sure you understand the application before you complete it.

Apply through MyUHDS

March 31, 2020, is the priority application deadline. When you apply by this date, you will select your own roommate or roommates and your own on-campus room or suite.

Returning student housing applications will still be accepted after the priority deadline, but housing staff will assign rooms and roommates for later applicants.

 

3. Find a Roommate

Fill out the Roommate Questionnaire.

This will help you find someone in our online roommate matching system if you want to choose your own roommate, and will help our staff match you if you do not choose your own roommate.

Roommate matching for returning students will be available beginning Feb. 10, 2020.

If you have roommates already selected, you can confirm each other as roommates within our system.

If you are searching for a roommate, return to the roommate matching system throughout February and March to search for potential roommates for next year.

If you wish to select your own roommate, submit your selection through MyUHDS by March 31, 2020.

 

 

4. Room Selection or Assignment

On April 10, 2020, returning students who completed a housing application by March 31, 2020, will receive a date and time to return and log in to select a room for fall.

On your selection date (it will be some time between April 15-30, 2020, depending on when you applied for housing) you can log in to MyUHDS and select your room.

May 15, 2020, is the deadline to cancel a housing contract for fall. After that date, you will be held to the policies listed in the contract.

Students who did not complete the application by July 1, 2020 can still receive on-campus housing. Housing assignments will be offered on a rolling basis through September 2020. See your housing contract for details on accepting or declining an assignment, as well as the cancellation policy.
