Thank you for your interest in becoming a Holiday Host at Oregon State University. In this program, Hosts volunteer to bring students into their home for a day to celebrate American traditions during the holidays. University Housing and Dining Services will utilize the information you provide below to match you with a student interested in spending the holiday with a family.
The Holiday Hosting Program is a chance for international students to spend one day with a family in the Corvallis or surrounding community during the holiday season. Holidays included in this program include (but are not limited to): Thanksgiving (November 28), Hanukkah (November 27-December 5), Christmas Eve (December 24), Christmas Day (December 25), New Year’s Eve (December 31), and New Year’s Day (January 1). Hosts will transport students to and from home on the holiday and provide food and entertainment for students. UHDS recognizes that some holiday traditions may include religious aspects. We ask that you explain traditions to the students and give them the choice of whether they want to participate in activities, and please be aware that students may have different beliefs.

The deadline to apply to be a host for Thanksgiving is Friday, November 15 at 5 p.m. Hosts will be emailed student information Monday, November 25 by 5 p.m. Hosts and students will be responsible for coordinating pick-up on Thanksgiving Day.
