About Bloss Hall

Kitchens

  • Bloss Hall has a shared kitchen on the first floor that includes a refrigerator, microwave, cooktop, and oven. It is available for all hall residents to use 24/7.
  • Shared microwaves are available in kitchenettes on each floor.
  • Pots, pans, and other cooking supplies are available to check out from the front desk.

Lounges

  • Bloss Hall has a large, recently-remodeled lounge on the first floor that features games, comfy furniture, and a large-screen TV.
  • Other meeting rooms and study spaces are available throughout the building.
  • Board games and game equipment like pool cues and ping-pong paddles are available to check out from the front desk.

  

Laundry Room

Laundry in Oregon State University residence halls is free for residents; no coins or cards are required.

  • The Bloss Hall laundry room is located on the west side of the first floor.
  • Residents should bring their own laundry soap and other supplies.
  • Liquid detergent is preferred.
  • Laundry pods must be placed in the washer itself.
  • Use the Campus CleanPay app to monitor laundry status. (App set-up instructions are posted on site.)

 

      

Trash and Recycling

Each resident room has a bin for trash and a bin for recycling. When the room bins are full, residents need to empty them in the building's trash and recycling areas.

  • Bottles, cans and paper: recycle these items inside, in the gray, metal recycling bins in the lobby area on the ground floor.
  • Corrugated cardboard: recycle cardboard outside, in the cardboard bin inside the fenced area on the northwest side of the building.
  • Trash: empty your trash can outside, in the dumpster inside the fenced area on the northwest side of the building.

  • Indoor bike storage room in basement 
  • Outdoor covered bike storage area on the east side of the building near the ILLC 
  • Outdoor uncovered bike racks at both outdoor entrances. 

Bathrooms in Bloss Hall

  • All rooms in Bloss Hall have semi-private bathrooms containing a shower and toilet; these are shared only with other residents of the adjacent suite.
  • Residents of suite-style bathrooms are responsible for cleaning their own bathrooms. Bathrooms in common areas are cleaned daily by UHDS custodial staff.

Special Interest Communities

Second Year and Above students: The seventh floor of Bloss Hall is set aside for second-year and above students, which includes students who have already completed at least one year of college, or are graduate students or transfer students.

Hall Staff

Professional Staff: Each hall has a professional staff member who lives on campus, supervises student staff members, and is available to meet with students one-on-one for guidance and support.

Student Staff: A team of student staff members lives in Bloss Hall to assist residents.
