Preparing to arrive

Check your MyUHDS for your arrival date and time. Other detailed instructions for Move-In Day will be in the 2018 Move-In Guide mailed to your home address later this summer.

OSU ID card

Bring your OSU ID card to check in. You will need it to access your building and to eat in the dining center. If you did not receive your ID card during your START program, please pick it up at the ID Center located in Memorial Union room 103. Without your OSU ID card, you will be required to show an alternate ID at check-in and our staff will advise you on temporary options.

Receiving mail

You can find your mailing address and mailbox information online via your MyUHDS account. Remember that your mailbox number is different than your room number.

You can send packages or mail to your residence hall address when mailboxes are assigned on September 4. The Service Center where your mailbox is located will hold your mail and packages until the end of the first week of Fall Term.

Loft kits

If you would like to sign up for a loft kit please sign up via your MyUHDS account. The rental charge for a loft kit is $210, which can be billed to your student account in Fall Term. For more information on loft kit reservations, please view the loft kit page.

Economy Triples have a “micro-fridge”

Economy Triple rooms come with a mini refrigerator, freezer, microwave combination appliance already installed. Learn more about Economy Triples.

Personal Property (Renters) Insurance

UHDS recommends purchasing Personal Property or Renters Insurance either through your family’s existing account, or through one of many insurance agencies.

Bringing a car

A car is not a necessity, but many students have cars at OSU. There are grocery stores, restaurants and other destinations within walking distance from campus. To travel to locations further from campus, the Corvallis Transit System offers fareless public bus service. It is important to note that OSU Parking Services sells more parking permits than they have spots available. Permit information.
