Kitchen

  • Sackett Hall has four kitchens on the main floor that are available for resident use 24/7. They include a full-size refrigerator, freezer, oven, cooktop, sink, and microwave.
  • In addition, each floor has a lounge/kitchenette with a shared microwave for resident use.
  • Pots, pans, and other cooking supplies are available to check out from the front desk.

Lounges

  • Sackett Hall has multiple spacious lounges throughout the building where residents can socialize, study, and relax.
  • Sackett lounges are equipped with large-screen TV, games, couches, and study areas, and are available to residents 24/7.
  • Board games and game equipment like pool cues and ping-pong paddles are available to check out from the front desk.
  
Laundry Room

Laundry in Oregon State University residence halls is free for residents; no coins or cards are required.

  • The Sackett Hall laundry room is located on the first floor in the center of the building, along the hallway that connects the C and F wings.
  • Residents should bring their own laundry soap and other supplies.
  • Liquid detergent is preferred.
  • Laundry pods must be placed in the washer itself.
  • Use the Campus CleanPay app to monitor laundry status. (App set-up instructions are posted on site.)
  
Trash and Recycling

Each resident room has a bin for trash and a bin for recycling. When the room bins are full, residents need to empty them in the building's trash and recycling areas.

  • Bottles, cans and paper: recycle these items inside, in the gray metal recycling bins located around the building.

  • Corrugated cardboard: recycle cardboard outside, in the cardboard bin inside the brick-walled courtyard on the south side of the building.
  • Trash: empty your trash can outside, in the dumpster inside the brick-walled courtyard on the south side of the building.

Room types

Sackett offers double and triple rooms. There are seven different Sackett room configurations; many Sackett rooms come with sleeping porches, which are small separate rooms adjacent to the main living area which can be closed off for a quiet sleeping or study area.

Room details

Sackett beds can be bunked or lofted with a UHDS rental loft kit. Depending on the room configuration, many Sackett rooms come with beds that are already bunked or lofted with a complimentary bunk or loft kit.

Living-Learning Communities 

Honors College: Sackett Hall is one of two homes for the Honors College Living-Learning Community, in addition to West Hall. Honors College students receive priority for placement in Sackett Hall.

Special Interest Communities

Single-Gender: A wing will have single-gender floors where students who identify as men and students who identify as women can live on floors that only house other students of the same gender identity.

Hall Staff

Professional Staff: Each hall has a professional staff member, who lives on campus, supervises student staff members, and is available to meet with students one-on-one for guidance and support.

Student Staff: A team of student staff members lives in Sackett Hall to assist residents.
