Halsell Hall houses approximately 200 residents. Halsell Hall offers suite rooms with a variety of configurations. Suites have a range of singles and doubles and can house between 4 and 6 students with the majority accommodating 5 students in a suite.
In all configurations, the rooms share a common area with kitchenette and one-and-a-half bathrooms. In all suite kitchenettes, a cooktop, kitchen sink, microwave and an under the counter refrigerator are provided.
There is a full time Resident Director supervising Halsell Hall with a live-in Graduate Assistant Resident Director, four Resident Assistants, a Community Relations Facilitator, and an Academic Learning Assistant.
In Halsell Hall, students are not assigned to rooms or suites by gender. This allows our residents to room with anyone of any gender identity or gender expression. This living environment can accommodate students who desire to live with friends or family, as well as all gender identities including man, woman and transgender, among many others.
Halsell offers Sophomore & Above Housing, which features building amenities and a community experience designed with the sophomore and above student in mind. Students living in Halsell must be at least 20 years old before classes begin in September; or a current OSU student returning for another year; or admitted as a transfer student to OSU.
One wing of Halsell is dedicated to housing for transfer students. Another wing is set aside for graduate student housing. An additional wing is for visiting scholar housing.
