Halsell Hall houses approximately 200 residents. Halsell Hall offers suite rooms with a variety of configurations. Suites have a range of singles and doubles and can house between 4 and 6 students with the majority accommodating 5 students in a suite. In all configurations, the rooms share a common area with kitchenette and one-and-a-half bathrooms.
There is a full time Resident Director supervising Halsell Hall with a live-in Graduate Assistant Resident Director, 4 Resident Assistants, a Community Relations Facilitator, and an Academic Learning Assistant.
Halsell is one of our halls offering Sophomore & Above Housing, which features building amenities and a community experience designed with the sophomore and above student in mind. Students living in Halsell must be at least 20 years old before classes begin in September OR a current OSU student returning for another year OR admitted as a Transfer student to OSU.
Halsell Hall is also a Gender Inclusive Community. Gender Inclusive Living allows our residents to room with anyone of any gender identity or gender expression. This living environment can accommodate students who desire to live with friends and family, etc. as well as all gender identities including man, woman and transgender, among many others. Gender Inclusive Living additionally serves as an ideal housing option for gender-variant students by upholding a community that is supportive of the diversity of gender identity and expression.
The fourth floor west wing is designated as study intensive.
In all suite kitchenettes, a microwave and an under the counter refrigerator are provided.
Starting Fall 2017, each hall will have a mix of gender-specific and non-gendered bathrooms.
