Cauthorn Hall has a kitchen on the first floor that's available for all hall residents to use 24/7. It includes a refrigerator, microwave, cooktop and oven. Cooking equipment can be checked out from the front desk. In addition to the first floor kitchen, each floor has a shared microwave for residents.
Cauthorn has a main lounge on the ground floor with couches, tables, games and free cable TV. It's available to residents 24/7. Each of the other floors also has an additional lounge, with couches, study spaces, and TV.
Second Year and Above: The first floor of Cauthorn hall is a community for people who are in their second year and beyond at Oregon State.
Substance-Free: The fourth floor of Cauthorn is a substance-free floor. In addition to the policies outlined in the UHDS policy guide, residents on this floor sign an agreement to live in and a support a substance-free lifestyle (no drugs or alcohol).
The resident director is a professional staff member who lives in Cauthorn Hall and supervises the student staff members. Contact the resident director for help transitioning to college life, room changes and roommate issues, guidance and support.
The live-in student staff members of Cauthorn Hall include resident assistants, a Community Relations Facilitor, and an Academic Learning Assistant. Contact student staff members with questions about your building as well as for help with personal, social and academic needs, and general community issues.
The Area Director for Academic Initiatives (ADAI) is a professional staff member who lives on campus and supervises several resident directors. The ADAI supervises Academic Learning Assistants in the hall and collaborates with university partners to promote academic success for campus residents.
