Engaging in Community

Many of Oregon State's residence halls are home to Living-Learning Communities or Special Interest Communities. These are groups of students who share common interests, shared living preferences, or are part of the same academic program.

Thriving on Campus

In both nation-wide studies and research conducted at OSU, first-year students who live on campus earn better grades than students who live off campus, and also tend to graduate more quickly.

  • Every hall has a full time professional resident director, as well as live-in student staff.
  • On-campus residents have access to free tutoring in the dining centers in each area of campus.

First Year Experience

As part of Oregon State University's comprehensive First-Year Experience, first-year students, with very few exceptions, are required to live on campus. Living on-campus is an excellent way for students to connect with key campus resources and build community.
